Scope of Work

The crew stripped and rebuilt the roof as a full system — membrane at eaves and valleys, underlayment, starters, Landmark shingles in Charcoal Black, and caps — working the shed dormers’ cheeks and returns where capes hide their hardest flashing. New skylights were set into the fresh field, and sections of wall got new cedar shake siding to match the home’s shingle-style character.

A dormer is a small house standing on your roof — with its own walls, corners, and roof plane, every edge of which meets the main field in a flashing detail. Step flashing up the cheeks, apron flashing at the front, valley treatment where rooflines merge: a cape with two dormers carries more linear feet of flashing than a plain colonial twice its size. When dormered roofs leak, it is almost never the shingles. Hire for the details, not the field.
