A Complex Contemporary Roofline in Landmark PRO Driftwood — Cranston, RI Roof and Skylight Replacement

Like most Pinnacle roofing projects, the work was completed in a single day — minimizing disruption for the homeowner.

Pinnacle makes every roof affordable with monthly financing options to make your home project affordable with low monthly payments, including 0% interest for 18 months.

This Western Cranston contemporary is all roof — wings, valleys, and low-slung planes that meet at every angle, dotted with skylights. Pinnacle Roofing & Skylights reroofed the entire home in CertainTeed Landmark PRO, Driftwood, and replaced the aging skylights with new fixed units flashed directly into the fresh system.

Scope of Work

The crew stripped every plane, then rebuilt: ice and water shield through the home’s many valleys — the working heart of a complex roof — synthetic underlayment across the fields, new drip edge and starters, Landmark PRO shingles in Driftwood, and matching caps along every hip and ridge. The old skylights came out and new fixed units went in, each flashed as part of the roof rather than an afterthought on top of it.

What We Installed (And Why)

Landmark PRO brings heavyweight dual-layer construction, a Class A fire rating, 110 MPH wind warranty, StreakFighter algae resistance, and CertainTeed’s lifetime limited warranty with SureStart protection. On a roof with this much surface area, the Max Def granule depth also does aesthetic work most homes never ask of a shingle — every plane catches light differently, and the blend keeps them harmonious.

Driftwood’s gray-brown blend was made for wooded lots like this one: it picks up the tree canopy’s shifting light and reads warm at ground level, cool from above. The drone views in the gallery show what a consistent color lot across a dozen planes looks like when it lands right.

Good To Know: What makes a complex roofline harder to roof?

Valleys. Every place two planes meet concentrates water — a valley carries several roofs’ worth of runoff in a storm — and complex contemporaries can have a dozen of them. Each needs ice and water membrane, woven or cut shingle work, and clean lines the eye will follow forever. A simple gable roof forgives a sloppy crew; a roof like this one publishes their work. Ask any roofer what they check first on a complicated house: the valleys.

Why This Approach Works

Membrane in every valley, consistent color across every plane, and skylights integrated during — not after — the shingle work: that is how a complicated roof becomes a simple one to own. The homeowner’s only job now is enjoying the light.
