Scope of Work

Full tear-off, then the system: ice and water shield at the eaves and penetrations, synthetic underlayment, new drip edge and starter strips, Landmark PRO field shingles in Evergreen, and matching ridge caps. The VELUX fixed skylights were installed with the No Leak flashing system, integrated into the underlayment layers rather than cut in after the fact.

Good To Know: Do skylights make sense on a shaded, wooded lot?

They make the most sense there. A skylight admits several times the light of a same-size vertical window because it faces the open sky — even a bright-overcast sky — rather than the tree line. On wooded lots where every window looks into foliage, rooms often gain more usable daylight from one skylight than from all their windows combined. Fixed units, with no moving parts, are the simplest and most economical way to do it.
