When wind damaged the roof of this East Greenwich office building, Pinnacle Roofing & Skylights handled both halves of the problem: the insurance claim and the roof itself. We worked directly with the adjuster to make sure every repair was fully covered, then installed GAF Slateline shingles in Antique Slate — a designer profile that turned storm damage into a visible upgrade.
Scope of Work
The project began with documentation — photographing and recording the wind damage to the standard insurers expect — followed by adjuster coordination until the full scope was approved. The crew then completed a full tear-off and rebuilt the roof as a system: underlayment, drip edge, starters, GAF Slateline field shingles, and matching hip and ridge caps across the building’s prominent gables.
What We Installed (And Why)
GAF Slateline is a designer shingle built to read like natural slate at a fraction of slate’s cost — artisan-crafted shapes, oversized tabs, and deep shadow lines. Dura Grip adhesive seals each shingle against blow-off, with shingles warranted to withstand winds up to 130 mph, and StainGuard Plus algae protection keeps the dramatic color clean. For a building that just lost a roof to wind, that 130-mph rating was the point.
Antique Slate carries the gray-on-gray depth of quarried stone — a serious, established look that suits a professional building. It reads as slate from the street and from the parking lot, which is exactly what a designer profile is for.

Good To Know: What should a property owner do right after wind damage?
Document first, tarp fast, and get a roofing contractor involved before the adjuster visit — not after. A contractor who works storm claims can photograph damage the way insurers expect, meet the adjuster on the roof, and make sure the approved scope reflects what the building actually needs rather than the cheapest patch. This claim ended in a full replacement because the documentation supported one.
Why This Approach Works
Storm damage rarely confines itself to the shingles you can see missing — wind that tears one slope has stressed seals and fasteners everywhere. A complete replacement, approved through the insurance process, resets the entire roof to day one: every component new, sealed, and warranted together, with a wind rating chosen for the next storm rather than the last one.
