This waterfront home on Nichol Avenue in Warwick called for a full exterior overhaul, and the owners wanted every trade handled under one roof, literally. We installed a CertainTeed Landmark PRO roof in Max Def Burnt Sienna, set VELUX skylights to pull daylight into the living space, wrapped the house in Everlast composite siding, and finished it with seamless aluminum gutters. Coordinating the roof, skylights, siding, and drainage as one project gave the home a cohesive, weather-ready envelope.

Scope of Work

We started at the roof, tearing off to the deck and rebuilding with ice-and-water shield, synthetic underlayment, new drip edge, and CertainTeed Landmark PRO shingles, then curb-mounted and step-flashed the VELUX skylights so they tie into the shingle courses without a weak point. On the walls, the crew hung Everlast composite siding over a continuous weather barrier and trimmed it out in white PVC. Continuous seamless gutters and downspouts finished the water management; explore our seamless gutter systems for more.

What We Installed (And Why)

CertainTeed Landmark PRO is a heavier-weight architectural shingle with enhanced wind resistance, and its Max Def Burnt Sienna blend brings a warm, layered color that suits a home on the water. Set into that roof, the VELUX skylights are factory-engineered units flashed with VELUX kits so they daylight the interior without becoming leak risks, a combination that only works when the shingle and skylight details are installed as one system.

On the walls, Everlast composite siding was chosen for its resistance to moisture, fading, and impact, exactly what a shoreline exposure demands, with white PVC trim framing the window bands and gables for a clean finish. The seamless aluminum gutters that wrap the home have no mid-run joints to clog or leak, carrying rain off the large roof and away from the foundation so the new siding and landscaping stay protected.

Good To Know: Why bundle roofing, skylights, siding and gutters into one project?

Because the failure points on a house are almost always the transitions, and separate contractors rarely own the seams between their trades. When one crew installs the roof, flashes the skylights into it, laps the siding correctly over the weather barrier, and hangs the gutters to match, every handoff is detailed by the same hands that are accountable for it. That eliminates the finger-pointing and the gaps that show up when a roofer, a siding crew, and a gutter installer all work in isolation, especially on an exposed waterfront home.

Why This Approach Works

An exterior performs as a system, not as a stack of separate purchases. By sequencing the Landmark PRO roof, the VELUX skylights, the Everlast siding, and the seamless gutters together, we made sure water is shed and channeled cleanly from the highest ridge all the way to the downspouts, with no mismatched transition left for the wind off Narragansett Bay to exploit.

Why Pinnacle

Pinnacle Roofing & Skylights is a CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier contractor, CertainTeed’s highest residential credential, and a VELUX 5-Star Skylight Specialist, so both the Landmark PRO roof and the skylights were installed to manufacturer standard. Serving Rhode Island since 2012, we hold RI Residential License #39446, carry a BBB A+ rating, and have earned more than 100 five-star Google reviews. One accountable team stood behind the roof, skylights, siding, and gutters alike.

Warwick, RI

Warwick’s long shoreline along Narragansett Bay, from Pawtuxet Village to Conimicut Point, gives its neighborhoods some of the best water views in the state, and some of the harshest exposure to wind and salt air. Homes here need exteriors that can take that weather year after year. We are proud to protect properties across Warwick with roofing, skylight, siding, and gutter work built for the coast.
