A Scituate homeowner wanted to give a tired exterior a clean, lasting refresh, and turned to Pinnacle Roofing & Skylights for a full siding replacement. This Scituate project traded worn, aging walls for a crisp taupe exterior with new trim — improving how the home looks from the street while building a real weather barrier underneath.
Scope of Work
Our crew removed the old siding down to the sheathing, inspected the wall surface, and installed a continuous weather-resistant barrier before any new material went up. From there we hung the new siding in a warm taupe tone, then wrapped the corners, windows, and the side entry door with clean trim for a finished, sealed look. You can see the results of the siding work in the crisp lines around every opening and along the full run of the walls.
What We Installed (And Why)
Good siding is a system, not just a surface. We started with a house-wrap weather barrier over the sheathing so that any moisture that gets behind the panels has a drainage path and the wall stays dry. The new siding was installed with proper overlap and fastening so it can handle Rhode Island’s temperature swings without buckling or pulling loose, and the taupe color gives the home a warm, current look that pairs cleanly with the existing roofline.
The trim is where a siding job is won or lost. We detailed the corners, window surrounds, and the side entry door with fresh trim that closes off the gaps where water and cold air sneak in. Tight, well-sealed trim keeps the weather out and gives the whole exterior that finished, intentional appearance — the difference between siding that was simply installed and siding that was installed right.

Good To Know: Does New Siding Actually Help With Energy Bills?
It can, and the reason is the layer you never see. A properly installed weather-resistant barrier plus tight trim reduces the air infiltration that makes a home feel drafty and forces the heating system to work harder. New siding also seals up the gaps and soft spots that developed as the old material aged. Homeowners usually notice a more comfortable, less drafty house first — and a better-looking one at the same time.
Why This Approach Works
Replacing siding without addressing the wall underneath just hides problems. By tearing off to the sheathing, installing a real weather barrier, and sealing every corner and opening with new trim, we rebuilt the home’s exterior as a system that sheds water and blocks drafts. The taupe finish delivers the curb appeal, but the barrier and trim beneath are what make it last through New England winters.

Scituate, RI
Scituate is one of Rhode Island’s most scenic inland towns, home to the vast Scituate Reservoir that supplies drinking water to much of the state and to the classic New England village of North Scituate. Its wooded, four-season setting means homes here face everything from summer humidity to hard winter cold, so a durable, well-sealed exterior really matters. Pinnacle is glad to help Scituate homeowners protect and refresh their homes.
