Like most Pinnacle projects, the work was completed efficiently — minimizing disruption for the property owner.
On City View Avenue in East Providence, a storm left a ranch home with a compromised roof and water working its way down into the structure below. Pinnacle Roofing & Skylights stepped in to restore the home top to bottom — a full re-roof to seal it back up, plus repair of the water-damaged rafters and ceilings inside — while guiding the homeowner through the insurance claim every step of the way.
Scope of Work
We began by documenting the storm damage thoroughly for the insurance claim, then dried the home in to stop any further water intrusion before restoration work started. The crew tore the roof off to the deck, replaced compromised sheathing, and rebuilt the system with ice-and-water shield at the eaves, valleys, and penetrations, synthetic underlayment, drip edge, starter strips, new shingles, and fresh flashing at every wall and penetration. Inside, we repaired the water-damaged rafters and ceilings, and we finished with a full property cleanup.
What We Installed (And Why)
Because storm damage isn’t just cosmetic, we rebuilt the roof as a complete water-management system rather than simply laying new shingles over a wounded deck. After tearing off to the deck and replacing the compromised sheathing, we installed ice-and-water shield at the vulnerable eaves, valleys, and penetrations, rolled out synthetic underlayment across the field, and set drip edge and starter strips to lock the perimeter. New shingles and fresh step- and counter-flashing at the walls and penetrations sealed the roof back into one continuous, weathertight assembly.
Restoration continued indoors, where the storm’s water had already done its damage. We addressed the water-damaged rafters and repaired the stained, compromised ceilings so the home was made whole — not just re-roofed on the outside. Handling both the exterior and the interior under one roofer meant the homeowner had a single point of accountability for the entire restoration, and the finished elevations show a home returned to sound, dry condition.

Good To Know: How does the insurance claim process work after storm damage?
It usually starts with documentation — clear photos and a detailed record of the damage, which Pinnacle captures before any temporary or permanent work begins. From there we can meet with your adjuster, speak the technical language of scope and repair, and make sure the damage is fully accounted for rather than underestimated. We dry the home in to prevent the loss from growing while the claim is processed, then complete the permanent restoration. Having an experienced roofer manage that process takes a great deal of stress off the homeowner.
Why This Approach Works
Storm restoration only holds up when every layer is addressed, from the deck out and from the roof in. Drying the home in first stops the damage from spreading while the claim moves forward, and rebuilding the roof as a full ice-and-water, underlayment, and flashing system — not a patch — is what keeps the next storm out. Repairing the interior rafters and ceilings closes the loop so the home is truly restored. Managed as one project with the insurance claim in hand, the homeowner gets a complete, lasting recovery instead of a partial fix.
