On Main Street in Warren, Gil’s Automotive — a working commercial auto garage — needed a durable, budget-conscious new roof over the shop. We reroofed the building in TAMKO Heritage architectural shingles in the Olde English Pewter tone, giving the garage a clean, protective roof that keeps the bays dry and the business running.
Scope of Work
Because a garage roof protects tools, lifts, and vehicles below, we did this one right from the deck up. We tore off the old roofing, inspected the sheathing and replaced any rotted decking, then laid down ice-and-water shield at the eaves and penetrations, synthetic underlayment across the field, new drip edge, and starter strips. TAMKO Heritage shingles in the Olde English Pewter tone went over the top, finished with matching ridge cap and proper ventilation. What We Installed (And Why)
TAMKO Heritage is a laminated architectural asphalt shingle — a dimensional, wind-rated shingle that delivers a solid, long-lasting roof at a sensible price point, which makes it a practical fit for a commercial building like an auto garage where the priority is durable protection over premium curb appeal. It goes down over the same complete weatherproofing system we use on any roof, so the shop stays dry through New England’s full range of weather.
The Olde English Pewter tone gives the garage a muted, professional gray that suits a Main Street commercial building without drawing attention to itself. Just as important as the color is the flashing and detail work around the roof’s edges and penetrations — on a wide, simple garage roof, clean edge metal and sealed penetrations are what keep water out over the years.
